Malcolm Maclaren (1873 – 1935) was one of the most accomplished mining geologists born and educated in New Zealand but is barely known in the country of his birth even by modern geoscientists. His connection to Cornwall comes from his marriage to Harriet Williams, of the famous Cornish mining family, in 1912 and their residence in Cornwall for most of his professional life until his death in the county in 1935.
