The RGSC Annual General Meeting was held in St John’s Hall in Penzance, as
usual and then members convened for the evening dinner at the Union Hotel, Chapel Street, Penzance which was the original venue when the RGSC started meeting in 1815 – and still maintains original features and decor.
Members enjoyed the dinner and, in the afternoon, a super Annual Address lecture by Dr Jackie Skipper, Senior Consultant at the Geotechnical Consulting Group, London, on ‘Geological variability and ground hazards – how does the ground get to be ‘unexpected’?’
